Cotton Industry

Cotton is a relatively new agricultural industry but has well embedded roots in Australian history.was established in the Upper Namoi area not long after the first commercial crop was planted at Wee Waa using water from Keepit Dam in 1961.  Boggabri has a Namoi Cotton Gin and is a growing industry within the local area.  Boggabri has a number of established growers and well known within the Cotton Industry.  

 

Tours of the cotton can be done while attending the Drovers Campfire each year (April) and are understood to give a great insight into the industry in the area.
